Discussion Regarding Comprehensive Plan Update

The Northwest Planning Commission is currently working on the revisions to the town’s Comprehensive Plan. The Plan and Review Commission encourages the public to review the plan and bring forward any ideas you have for the updated plan. There will be a public hearing scheduled during the summer months. The current Comprehensive Plan can be found online on the Town of Spider Lake website under Select Town Ordinances. The PRC went over a number of sections of the existing plan and some comments will be forwarded to Northwest Planning. Smith indicated that he will ask the board of the Spider Chain of Lakes Association to review and make comments if appropriate. Ross suggested that there be a clearer explanation of the difference between the “Quiet Lakes” and the Spider Chain as it relates to boating ordinance.

Any Other Business That May Come Before the Commission for Discussion

Steve Smith commented on the short-term rental ordinance and detailed his support for it in a letter.

Patrick Delaney commented on the Comprehensive Plan. Hucker confirmed that the draft plan will be made available for review. Hucker noted that there are mandatory subjects that need to be addressed in the Plan. When it was reviewed by the PRC over a year ago, there appeared to be a consensus that there was not a need for major changes.

Motion to adjourn by Ross and seconded by Cerman, MC 5-0
