06/20/18 – Solid Waste Committee Meeting Minutes

TOWN OF SPIDER LAKE, SAWYER COUNTY
SOLID WASTE COMMITTEE MEETING
JUNE 20, 2018

The Town of Spider Lake Solid Waste Committee meeting was called to order at 3:00 PM immediately following the Road committee meeting by Committee Chair Brandt. Present were committee members Brandt, Hucker, Huot and Clerk Ferda.

Pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1) (c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction, at 3:04 PM, a motion was made by Hucker and 2nd by Huot for the Solid Waste Committee to move in and out of executive session to discuss the above stated matters and that the Board will reconvene in open session as the notice states to act on any items from the executive session if necessary and to proceed with other items of the agenda. All in favor. Motion carried. The Road Committee members and the Clerk met in executive session. At 3:55 PM, a motion was made by Hucker and 2nd by Huot to reconvene in open session to act on any items from the executive session if necessary and to proceed with other items on the agenda. Motion was made by Hucker and 2nd by Huot to offer the regular solid waste attendant the following: maintain the rate of pay at $13.00 per hour (based on six hours per day), maintain the six paid holidays (if holiday is worked, compensation will be based on twice the hours), vacation benefits as two days after one year and 4 days after five years (based on six hours per day) and sick pay at six days per year (three of which can be used as personal days) and a total of twelve sick days can be accumulated (based on six hours per day). All in favor. Motion carried. Motion was made by Huot and 2nd by Hucker that funds be turned in when $500.00 is collected or every two weeks, whichever comes first. All in favor. Motion carried. Motion was made by Hucker and 2nd by Huot to authorize Brandt to extend to Robert Schroeder for the vacant position as solid waste attendant. All in favor. Motion carried.

Hucker noted that a backup person needs to be found to fill in when necessary.

Motion to adjourn was made by Huot and 2nd by Hucker. All in favor. Motion carried.
