Road Maintenance

The town is responsible for the maintenance and repair of over 90 miles of roads within the Town of Spider Lake.  The town garage is located adjacent to the Town Hall.  Our road crew generally works from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  The direct line for the garage is 715-462-4514.

Please note that the town is not responsible for private roads and driveways and does not enter into agreements to maintain private roads.  Those roads are the responsibility of the land owners.

We also want to remind everyone that each year (often beginning as early as late February and as late as mid-May) road bans go into effect limiting the load weight of vehicular traffic.  We have very limited notice of when road bans will go into effect.  Please plan accordingly so that you are not inconvenienced with trash pickup, a lack of heating fuel or the inability to have holding tanks or septic systems pumped during that period.   In very limited circumstances, a waiver of the ban may be granted.  If you have any question on matters relating to our road maintenance program, please contact the Road Chair or the Town Chair.
